The processing kiosks of the Arona City Council issued more than 28,000 travel or registration certificates during the year 2022. This service, launched in September 2020, has a significant acceptance of citizenship as it facilitates the processing of this type of document quickly and free of charge, without long queues or prior appointment, in cultural and civic centers and other municipal offices.
The success of this initiative, developed by the City Council itself and implemented by other administrations, is reflected in the increase in users over the last two years. Especially in 2022, after enabling an alternative validation system so that any citizen can obtain their certificates without having to present their identity document. This translated into an increase in the average monthly issuance, from 2,049 certificates between January and October to 2,830 between the last two months of the year.
The processing kiosks have facilitated administrative procedures for the residents of Arona, benefiting the functioning of the public administrationsince with this it frees the offices of the Citizen Attention Service (SAC) to attend to more pressing demands such as social procedures, subsidies and aid.
These devices are located in the three offices of the SAC and the civic and cultural centers, so that citizens can carry out the free management in their neighborhood, without having to travel. The system allows you to send the certificates to your mobile phone or to an email address or print it at the moment in the center itself.
This year, the local government expects the processing kiosks to issue up to 40,000 travel and registration certificates out of the 60,000 issued by the City Council.
The Councilor for the Modernization Area, Julia Raquel Morales, points out that “facilitating administrative procedures for citizens is an obligation of all administrations, and we have been working on this from the City Council, saving them time and money. Likewise, with these digital certificate points located in all the civic and cultural centers and SAC offices in all the neighborhoods, we integrate new technologies into the administration”, she affirms.
