This past weekend the drop in temperatures was significant throughout the Canary Islands. This Monday, Teide National Park received the first snowfall of 2022 this Monday, coinciding with the end of the Christmas celebrations.
At around 00:00 this Monday, January 10, the Teide National Park reported 0.9 degrees Celsius, gradually descending as the morning progressed. The lowest temperatures, specifically -1.3 degrees, took place around 6:00 am.
Specifically, it has been a thin layer of snow that has concentrated, especially, at the peak of the volcano, where it has come to curdle, as reported by the delegate of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) in the Canary Islands, David Suárez.
