The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the Autonomous Organization for Festivals and Recreational Activities (Oafar), presented yesterday Suave, the song of the Carnival 2023 performed by the Tenerife artist Jadel. For the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, it is “a real luxury to be able to count on the voice of an international Tenerife who takes his art and the name of his land around the world”.
For his part, Alfonso Cabello highlighted “the catchy rhythm of Suave, a composition that perfectly sums up the talent and essence of our Carnival.” In this sense, the mayor wanted to highlight “that he is a professional who knows our party perfectly, since he was the presenter of the Gala in 2016 and 2017.”
Jadel, in addition to singing the song in the García Sanabria park, a performance that brought together many onlookers, pointed out that he was “delighted” to be the voice of Carnival. “I am very excited, I think it is the topic that has made me most excited about it,” he said.
Jadel recounted that “I was at home, the light went on for Carnival, and I began to compose. I introduced her, they loved it, but until they told me that she was official, I didn’t quite believe it ”. He admits that, even if they didn’t take it, he was going to publish it anyway.
Jadel announced that in March she will have a new record work, in which she returns to pop. “I rescue sounds from the 80s, but not urbanized, it’s a more up-to-date sound,” she pointed out. Added to this is the fact that the Canarian singer is one of the participants in the successful television program Tu cara me suena, which means having to combine it with Carnival. “I will be singing at the Carnival, it suits me very well with the program, but we will be singing Suave,” he explained. Going out in disguise is more complicated. “I have to take care of my voice for the program. I’m going to try, but I have to have at least two days to recover ”, he confesses.
Suave features musical production by Adrián Ghiardo, and Jadel describes it as a festive song inspired by the joy of the Santa Cruz festivity.
The artist from Tenerife began his career in 2008, reaping almost immediate recognition, such as the Music Awards 2010 star award in Miami, or the award for the best song of the summer, Viven, with which he achieved a gold record and obtained the record for permanence on the list 40. His song Dile Que Tú was nominated for best song at the Neox Fan Awards.
The Canarian artist, in addition to participating in musical productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar or Evita, has been a composer, arranger and producer for David Bustamante, Ana Guerra and Gemeliers, with whom he achieved a platinum record.
