The Santiago del Teide Volunteer Firefighters have recently presented their annual report corresponding to the year 2022 in which it is verified that there have been a total of more than 120 exits activated since 112 that this body has had to develop in different interventions to throughout the past year.
In this sense, the report indicates that the working hours have been 164 in total and the average number of firefighters per service performed was 7.
Of these outings and interventions, we must highlight the displacement of personnel and means to the fires declared in Los Realejos and El Tanque, the activation of level 3 in the La Campana industrial estate, as well as the mountain rescues (Barranco de Masca and Acantilado de Los Gigantes) and the rescues on the coast that amounted to 9 in the Piscina area of Isla Cangrejo and El Tancón.
Other services to highlight were the wind alert on March 14 according to orders from the Tenerife Fire Brigade, in July due to a heat alert and in September two checkpoints, also under indications from the Tenerife Fire Brigade due to storms (September 24 and 25) and, Lastly, the checkpoints, out of a total of 16 a year, highlighting the Trail Tenerguera, the Granadilla Rally (3 days) and the collaboration with the Santiago del Teide City Council in all its acts.
In addition, the report highlights that during the year 2022 they have carried out more than 132 hours of internships and training of their members.
