“Every year the same thing happens.” The complaints are repeated. The seats to see the Three Wise Men at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium sell out in just a few minutes, to the despair of many people. It is then when others, incurring in an illegality, put them up for sale on social networks. What costs 2 euros, for charitable purposes, is used to do business.
Resale, although common in many shows of all kinds, is an all too common practice. The locality is acquired, a price is set higher than that of the legal sale and a profit percentage is sought, generally very high.
It is usual, for example, in the final of the Murgas Contest of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, but that has been extended to the arrival of the Three Kings in the stadium. They are usually put up for sale on buying and selling portals, but, lately, also using social networks.
“It’s unfair, something has to be done,” said a mother to DIARIO DE AVISOS: “What cannot be is that we run out of money and then other people do business with that, with something that is for the children.”
Tickets to see the Three Kings at the stadium, sold out
The 18,000 tickets to attend the show of reception of SSMM the Three Kings of the East at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium They sold out within 3 hours of going on sale. The first box office to put up the “sold out” sign was the one in the Southwest district, around 65 minutes after opening its doors, when the clock showed twenty-five to ten.
The Councilor for Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello, expresses his satisfaction and acknowledges that “I expected very fast sales times”, since “the boys and girls of Santa Cruz de Tenerife are eager to receive the Three Wise Men where our tradition marks, together and in the Stadium”.
The mayor recalls that “just after the reception show at the Stadium concludes, the Parade will begin along the traditional route”, recommending “patience and responsibility, on a day in which Santa Cruz de Tenerife will bring together hundreds of thousands of people in their streets.
Barely 20 minutes after the sale ended in El Sobradillo, the same thing happened at the facilities of the Ofra-Costa Sur district, which at around 9:56 a.m. sold out the tickets available at that point. The Anaga district concluded the sale at 10:15 am; Salud-La Salle and the Stadium ticket offices, around 11:00 a.m. simultaneously, and, finally, Centro-Ifara, which closed the process at 11:30 a.m.
The Councilor for Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello, recalls that “as usual, the collection of the 18,000 tickets will be aimed at groups based in Santa Cruz de Tenerife or that have projects in the capital related to children.” In this sense, the mayor affirms that “the group of third sector organizations will share the estimated 36,000 euros from the sale of seats.”
For all these reasons, it is already a reality that a total of 18,000 people will meet this Thursday, the 5th, at the capital’s sports venue to attend the show organized by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Autonomous Organization of Fiestas and Recreational Activities (OAFAR).
