SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The María Pérez Trujillo Secondary Education Institute (IES), from Tenerife, has received the NAOS Strategy Award in the ‘work area’ category, awarded by the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN), attached to the Ministry of Consumption, for his project ‘Activate and you will see: feel good to educate better’.
The initiative’s main objective is to encourage, favor and promote among the teaching staff of the center the benefits of regular adapted physical activity and good eating and rest habits, for the integral health of this professional group.
It also shows that good teaching work is intrinsically linked to physical, mental, emotional and social well-being.
The NAOS Strategy Awards, which reached their XV edition this year, recognize 17 actions by centers, organizations and administrations that promote healthy and sustainable lifestyles for the general population, within the framework of the “One Health” comprehensive health concept.
The person in charge of the project, Luis Barrientos, is part of the Health Commission of the thematic axis ‘Health Promotion and Emotional Education’ of the InnovAS Educational Canary Network and has had the support of the Physical Education department of the center itself, as well as with the collaboration of Nursing staff from the Health Center of Los Realejos de Tenerife.
The beneficiary teachers of this action belong to the group of teachers of ESO, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training of the IES María Pérez Trujillo and their participation is voluntary.
