SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The spokesman for the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez, affirmed this Wednesday that the Executive will take the steps that are “in its power”, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to repatriate the corpses of the members of a family from Gran Canaria who died in an accident trafficking in Romania –the couple and their two daughters, 21 and 15 years old–.
In a press conference to give an account of the agreements of the Governing Council, he indicated that the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is also taking steps for the transfer since one of the deceased, aged 21, was studying Erasmus at the Romanian city of Sibiu.
Pérez has shown the Executive’s “feeling of regret and condolences” for a fatal accident that has “impacted everyone” and hopes to help the family to comply with the procedures and formalities of the case “in the best possible way.”
