Follow the acts for Constitution Day
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, highlighted this Tuesday on the occasion of Constitution Day that, despite what the Popular Party and Vox say, “it has been 44 years of democracy, freedom, prosperity, that Spain is positioned in Europe and to defend the rights of citizens after 40 years of dictatorship and a transition that was exemplary”.
Speaking to the media before participating in the act to commemorate Constitution Day in the Congress of Deputies, Ángel Víctor Torres stressed that today is a day that “we have to celebrate together and not with differences”, since the Constitution “It was the result of the work of men and women who separated ideological issues to move towards a text that is the Magna Carta.”
The head of the Canarian Executive admitted that perhaps the time has come to update the Constitution, since “everything can be improved and updated”, and also appealed to leave behind the differences expressed by the parties and “let us have a little more head and height of look to remember and recognize that magnificent day in which Spanish society, for the most part, said yes to the Constitution and strengthened the recent democracy”.
