The Port Authority of Santa Cruz of Tenerife has called this Friday a competition for the granting of a second nautical-sports marina on the seafront of the capital, with an estimated minimum investment of 16 million euros and leisure and restaurant areas.
This service will expand the offer for users of this type of vessel in the port of the capital of Tenerife and will allow continuing with the improvement of the actions planned in the Link Dock, in addition to bringing citizens closer to this maritime-port environment, has indicated the Port Authority.
The specifications that regulate said tender and the granting of the administrative concession for its construction and exploitation have been agreed by the members of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority meeting in extraordinary session under the presidency of its owner, Carlos González, who has expressed his “Satisfaction for launching this new initiative”.
In his opinion, the new marina will not only boost nautical activity in the port, with the consequent generation of greater economic activity for the capital, but also “in line with our roadmap, it represents a firm and feasible commitment to progress from the city to the sea.
The future marina, which will conform to the provisions of the Special Plan for the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will have the corresponding service areas on land and sea and an area of more than 4,000 square meters for free access and public use. In this area, whoever obtains the concession could take advantage of a maximum of 10% of the surface for the installation of kiosks and terraces.
The new facility will be located on the seafront of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the main port entrance to the city, between the Central Dock of the Los Llanos Basin and the mouth of the Santos ravine.
It will have 44,407 square meters of water sheet and 10,328 on land, 3,597 of them for nautical-sports use and the remaining 6,731 for cultural, recreational, maintenance, commercial, and hotel and restaurant use.
The estimated minimum investment for the execution of the works contemplated in the specifications is 16 million euros and the proposal for the areas included in the scope must be designed as an operational, aesthetic and architecturally harmonious set with the environment.
The pontoons to be installed will all be for vessels over eight meters in length, and 80% of those available will have capacity for vessels of up to ten meters or more.
There will also be room for units of more than one hundred meters and berths must be provided for people with reduced mobility.
The granting of the corresponding concession will entail the provision, among others, of management services for mooring posts, premises and uncovered surfaces, fuel and water supply to vessels.
The tender specifications will be available to interested parties through the Public Sector Contracting Platform, and the Port Authority has communicated that the maximum period for the presentation of offers is three months from its publication on the aforementioned platform.
