Yesterday, La Orotava put its heart into two of its most established activities, such as the science fair and the Solidarity Canine Walk, two acts that managed to gather a large public. As for the first meeting, yesterday it celebrated its nineteenth edition, which makes the Villa Science Fair one of the oldest in Spain.
Thus, after two editions marked by health restrictions, yesterday the largest outreach event on the islands returned, and it did so with an edition that became the one with the largest number of participating entities in its history.
The fair offered talks, workshops, demonstrations and experiments, magic and science, planetarium sessions, direct observation of the sun, computational thinking games… Among other novelties, the Eratosthenes and Foucault’s Pendulum experiment stood out, and the Space Explorers, a visit to the International Space Station. Without a doubt, the little ones were the ones who enjoyed the meeting the most.
As for the mascots, yesterday’s was the eighth edition of a solidarity act that has already been consolidated in La Orotava, and that had a significant participation. The walk started at twelve noon from the Franchy Alfaro Square. During the day, they took the opportunity to collect food and blankets for dogs in solidarity, in addition to holding activities such as a video booth, workshops or dog shows.
