Humorists, poets, actors, professors from the University of La Laguna and writers of the stature of Elsa López, Canary Islands Prize 2022, or Cecilia Domínguez, winner of the same award in 2015, head the list of more than 140 personalities who have shown their rejection to the works. The comic group Abubukaka, the musician Rogelio Botanz, the singer Kike Perdomo or the writer Andrea Abreu also support the manifesto (the complete list can be found at Consult on-line ) and the two acts scheduled for next week.
The first of them will be on November 11 at 7:00 p.m. and will consist of the reading of the manifesto Culture against cement: in defense of the Puertito de Adeje. The chosen place is the headquarters of the Center for Popular Canarian Culture, at Daute Street, 1, in La Laguna.

In the event, there will also be a raffle of artistic works donated by their authors for the event, as well as a collection for the benefit of the camp Stop Cradle of the Soul.
The manifesto is this poem written by Cecilia Domínguez:
For sustainable Canary Islands,
speculation free,
let’s fill ourselves with reason
in order to make it possible.
Let the people be sensitive
that the earth is first,
and that there is no money
buy our destiny.
With your hand on the road
of the sea, I hope so.
On the organizers’ website it is explained that “before the Cuna del Alma project in Puertito de Adeje, which poses a threat to the natural and cultural heritage of Tenerife, a group of musicians, poets, etc. of Tenerife have spontaneously mobilized to try to make visible the position of people linked to Culture against it. A manifesto has emerged whose text is actually a tenth written expressly for the occasion by the writer Cecilia Domínguez Luis, Canary Islands Literature Prize 2015, to which Elsa López, awarded the same prize in 2022, has adhered.
The colective culture against cement details that as of November 1, “in just ten days”, the number of 140 people, groups and cultural associations that had joined the manifesto (writers, musicians, actors, filmmakers, etc.) had been reached “and additions continue to arrive every day.” In the group website the steps to follow to join the manifest are also explained.
