SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 31 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has not registered new confirmed cases of monkeypox since Tuesday and reports one case under investigation. Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there have been 176 confirmed cases, of which 103 were detected in Gran Canaria, 66 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma.
All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care. Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the alert and until today are as follows: 176 confirmed cases, 103 in Gran Canaria, 66 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma, one suspicious case, pending confirmation, notified in Tenerife.
The protocol of the Ministry of Health classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in such case it is considered a suspected case.
