SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, highlighted that the latest BBVA Research report, which places the Archipelago as one of the four autonomous communities with GDP growth above the national average in 2023 (+1.9% ), reflects the strength of the Canarian economy for the coming months.
At a press conference, Ángel Víctor Torres highlighted that the Canary Islands will not only be above the GDP parameters of the rest of the Spanish territory in 2023, but also this year, which means that “being the community that was most affected by the health crisis and then the economic one, we have recovered in a short time”.
Torres stressed that the commitment to public policies, ertes and ICO credits, as well as the involvement of the business sector, have been key to this. Likewise, he affirmed that the data from BBVA “makes that in the face of any situation that we may have in the coming months, we are more strengthened.”
