The urban area of La Orotava will host next weekend the great fair of balances in the north of Tenerife, Diversaldo, and the IV Orotava Beer Festival, dedicated to beer and local gastronomy. These two economic revitalization activities have the support of the Villero City Council.
The Orotava Beer Festival It will begin on the afternoon of Saturday 24, starting at 5:00 p.m., and will last until one in the morning on Sunday 25, when it will reopen to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. It will take place in the upper part of the Plaza de la Constitución and will feature the presence of various craft beers and catering establishments with a varied gastronomic offer. In addition, you can enjoy the performance of DK’s Bobby BoB and Renzzo El Selector, and on Sunday the Agua del Chorro group will perform.
Also on Sunday, between 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. the helmet will once again merge fun on the street with the sale of products at low prices. Diversified It will take place in the downtown area between Puente Escultor Estévez and El Calvario streets, Canarias avenue, San Agustín and Plaza de la Constitución. In these spaces the positions of the more than 60 participating local companies will be distributed. Among other things, you can buy sports items, bazaars, jewelry, cosmetics, electronics, aesthetics, computers, toys, crafts, pastries, textiles, footwear, fishing items, typical costumes, hardware, accessories, watches, fixtures, decoration, fashion and second-hand objects.
Real estate agencies, opticians, stationery stores, hairdressers, health stores and second-hand vehicle companies will also participate. In addition, the shops of the Villa that want to open their doors will be able to do so during the same hours as Diversaldo. Throughout the day there will be different children’s activities on Calle San Agustín. At the end of the event there will be a fashion show on the façade of the church of San Agustín, with the presence of participating fashion companies.
The fair of balances of the municipality of La Orotava began to be held in 2005, and was a pioneer in the north of the island. This initiative aims to promote local commerce by allowing municipal companies to sell off-season items at low prices and liquidate merchandise from previous years. According to the local government (CC), “Diversaldo is also an activity that stimulates economic activity in general, since on this day other establishments such as restaurants, bars and cafes around the town center also benefit.”
