The Cabildo will improve the energy efficiency of the spaces linked to the Science and Technology Park of Tenerife (PCTT) by placing photovoltaic panels and digital meters. The Minister of Innovation, Research and Development, Juan José Martínez, vindicates the Island Corporation’s commitment to energy efficiency and a sustainable development model.
The Science and Technology Park houses facilities such as Nanotec, “which has several rooms, laboratories with air conditioning and rooms with forced ventilation, for which we are going to make an investment of approximately 178,000 euros to install photovoltaic panels, which will allow us to reduce the consumption of electrical energy and, therefore, its cost”, highlights the director Martínez Díaz.
Another 150,000 euros will be used to install digital meter systems in each of the spaces linked to the Tenerife Science and Technology Park. “This will allow us to have more data to control spending and be more efficient,” adds the island’s Minister of Innovation.

The Island Government Council approved an item of 890,000 euros for, in addition to electricity supply costs, those related to the operation of spaces such as surveillance, gardening, water supply and telecommunications.
In this area, it should be remembered that the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Cabildo, through its Area of Sustainable Development and Fight against Climate Change, announced a boost to the employment green on the Island, facilitating the start of activities related to what is known as the green economy.
In Tenerife, the Renewable Energy Office of the Cabildo has a directory of companies and freelancers that work in renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility to facilitate the search for people or businesses that are interested in contracting any of its services, so that they can access information quickly and easily.
