The Council of Tenerife recovers the coast for public use with 23 performances throughout the island of the Tenerife y el Mar program, of which the majority (17, 73%) have already been carried out. The island plan, which has an investment of 16.8 million euros, makes it possible to undertake far-reaching interventions such as the Bajamar dam, a historical demand of the residents of La Laguna (2 million euros); the adaptation of Los Roques de Fasnia, whose works are estimated to be completed next summer (1.7 million euros); the execution of the new promenade of La Hondura, in Santiago del Teide (1.2 million); or the improvement of the coastal paths of San Blas and Amarilla Golf (2.4 million), to improve the mobility and experience of residents and tourists.

- One of the most expensive actions of the Tenerife and the Sea program of the Cabildo is the improvement of the coastal paths of San Blas and Amarilla Golf, with an investment of 2.4 million euros.
Of the six actions that are underway, those in Garachico, San Miguel de Abona and Candelaria will conclude before the end of the year, and the projects in Fasnia (2) and Guía de Isora are expected to be completed in 2023. The 23 projects of improvement and conditioning in coastal areas of the Island are part of the Tenerife and the Sea program, with the aim of improving the island’s beach areas, coastal towns and coastline. Among the actions, the following also stand out: the comprehensive renovation of the Los Tarajales beach promenade, in Fasnia (1.3 million euros); conditioning the front of the beach of Las Caletillas, in Candelaria (1.8 million); the recovery of the breakwater of Playa de Las Eras, in Fasnia (516,393 euros); and the adaptation of the access paths to the beaches of Benijo and Almáciga, in Santa Cruz (498,618 euros).

In Guía de Isora, the first phase of adaptation and improvement of Avenida del Emigrante was carried out (1.8 million euros) and the second phase is scheduled to be completed next year (2.5 million euros), focused on the remodeling from the coastal front of the San Juan beach nucleus, providing this enclave with more modern infrastructures and facilities, accessible and respectful of the natural environment.

In addition, the existing road in Punta Blanca between the towns of Alcalá and Varadero has been conditioned (635,991 euros). In Garachico, access to La Caleta del Andén is being improved (223,935 euros); in Puerto de la Cruz several actions have been carried out, such as the improvement of the access area to Playa Jardín (612,144 euros); and in Santiago del Teide, access to Playa de Los Guíos was also improved (393,847 euros).
