The Golden Mile of Arona will become the epicenter of the culture, gastronomy and spirituality of this country, with the XI Festival of India, which will end on Sunday afternoon with the Hindu commemoration Ratha Yatra, which is the most important in Spain, after those of Madrid and Barcelona, with the famous Procession of the Divinities through the avenue of Playa de Las Américas, with great showiness and color, accompanied by traditional dances.
Ratha Yatra is one of the most popular spiritual festivals in India, where it is located in the city of Puri. In the sixties of the last century it began to spread to the West, being celebrated with great color in cities around the world. In the case of Spain, the most important have traditionally been those in Madrid and Barcelona, in addition to Arona, where it revolves around the Golden Mile of Playa de las Américas, in front of the H10 Conquistador hotel, organized by the municipal areas of Tourism and Culture, the Iskon Tenerife Association and the La Pineda Neighborhood Association.
The Ratha Yatra returns, in this way, to Arona, after the restrictions due to the pandemic. Tomorrow and Sunday not only will this religious festivity be celebrated, but also the V Arona Yogafest, on Sunday morning, with different activities around this discipline and which will end at 6:45 p.m.
