The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the Southwest district and in collaboration with the Development Society, is holding the 1st Professions Fair until today, with the participation of different professional training centers in the district, at the El Sobradillo sports center . The initiative includes scheduled visits, along with workshops and exhibitions linked to the participating professional families.
The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, visited the fair yesterday accompanied by the councilor of the Southwest district, Javier Rivero, where they took the opportunity to learn about the training offered by the institutes and share with the participants their concerns about their professional future.
Bermúdez highlighted the importance of initiatives like this “as they make known the varied professional offer that the different HEIs have and that will serve to facilitate any type of doubt to the thousands of young people who will pass through this fair these two days” and added “Our idea is to extend this type of fairs to the rest of the districts of the municipality”.
For his part, the councilor for the Southwest district, Javier Rivero, pointed out that the fair “is proving to be a success in terms of participation and is proving to be a very useful tool for the young people of the district to learn about the training offered by these centers, each with a unique offer.
“Our intention, given the acceptance of this first call, is to organize the next one in Añaza and in this way bring something as important and useful as Vocational Training closer to all the young people of the district,” added Rivero.
The educational centers that are participating in this first fair are IES El Sobradillo, IES María Rosa Alonso and IES Geneto as a guest. Together with the institutes, the CEOs Leoncio Rodríguez and Bethencourt y Molina complete the program of visits.
