SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 13 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has launched the third edition of the campaign to promote youth volunteering ‘I’m counting on you’, promoted by the Tenerife Solidarity Island program, which involves carrying out different training actions and executing different options for volunteering adapted to the needs and concerns of the students.
Educational centers throughout the island can now register to be part of the project. The CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, indicated that these activities seek to “promote activism among young people.” He added, in addition, that it is committed to “promoting spaces for exchange and promotion of social and collective awareness both among the students and in the teaching teams and the entire educational community.”
“Its intention is to sensitize, educate and bring closer the educational community and the associative fabric, as a means to enrich their academic and personal training, as agents of change”, Gugliotta specified.
In its edition for the 2022/2023 school year, it once again seeks to promote education in values such as solidarity, volunteering, participation, equality or diversity, among others.
Educational centers interested in participating just have to fill out a form and get information by sending an email to [email protected]. Last year, thirty educational centers from all over the island participated in the educational campaign #cuentocontigo, half of them from the urban area and the other from the outskirts or located in rural areas.
Among the activities that will take place next year are actions that are repeated in this new edition such as the Solidarity Pedagogical Kit, the Sustainable Development Goals Workshop ‘ODS al Cole’, internships in volunteer organizations through bonuses solidarity or the story ‘Maredén’.
New activities are also included, such as the Volunteering and Solidarity days or specific solidarity actions in the volunteering entities. A workshop to prevent cyberracism and another against waste will be held.
