The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has begun a new execution of those integrated in the works of Maritime Defense and Arrangement of the Puddle Zone of the Valleseco Functional Area, specifically, the green hillside wall, which has begun to be run on the perimeter of the work that borders the service road. Specifically, a vertical garden is defined as a green hillside wall, endowed with different vegetation, as a resource to “landscaping” walls or plots, which will radically change the image of the environment, making it more “green”.
To do this, the barrier that separated the construction area from the aforementioned road has been removed and the excavation on which the aforementioned wall will be mounted has begun, according to the Port Authority
Carlos González, president of Puertos de Tenerife, insists on the importance of the materialization of these works, “which represent another step in our commitment to bring the port closer to the city”, a clearly defined objective in the port entity’s roadmap . Likewise, González showed his “satisfaction with the progress of the works within the planned deadlines, with which we are getting closer to its scheduled conclusion for 2023”.
In fact, as pointed out by the Port Authority, the execution of the hammer dam, the one located next to the Cidemat facilities, has already been completed, which is already 120 meters long and a maximum width of ten meters. Likewise, all the concrete blocks for the docks, pieces that have been shaped on site, and that the large crane operating in the area will continue to place in their corresponding location until after the summer.
It should be remembered that the Maritime Defense and Planning works for the Puddle Zone of the Valleseco Functional Area began in June 2021, with an execution period of 22 months and a budget of 13,632,573 euros.
The Block-Acapulco of Valleseco beach
With regard to the conditioning works of the Valleseco coastline, but in the El Bloque-Acapulco area, to date the work is focused on the area around El Bloque, advancing at a good pace the adaptation of the pier edge.
Completed, in the area of the solarium, are the stands and concrete slabs, also materializing a cleaning of the seabed next to the pier with the aim of gaining depth.
This project, which has a total investment of 461,156.24 euros, seeks to improve access and bathroom conditions in the area, also responding to the obvious need to renovate equipment such as litter bins, showers and bathrooms for the enjoyment of residents and visitors of the metropolitan area.
This space is used as a bathing area for residents and young people from the metropolitan area and its use made the need to condition it evident. Thus, it should be remembered that in Acapulco, an area of 90 linear meters and 1,200 square meters will be intervened, while in El Bloque the same will be done in 130 linear meters and 4,000 square meters.
In this regard, the president of Puertos de Tenerife, Carlos González, and the mayor of the City Hall of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, signed the inter-administrative agreement last year that includes the bases for the execution of these works that are already beginning. The action to be carried out is included in the refurbishment project contracted by Puertos de Tenerife to Giur SL Civil Engineering and Urban Planning Studio, for a value of 14,500 euros.
