Rosa Davila, regional deputy for the Canarian Coalition of Tenerife; the new nationalist spokesperson in the Arona City Council, Alexis Gómez Álvarez, and the councilor for CC, Yurena Darias, denounce that the Government of the Canary Islands and the Port Authority “have not invested a single euro to solve the serious problems of collapse that the Port of Los Cristianos continues to suffer from”. The nationalists criticized the management of the Executive of Ángel Víctor Torres, who “has not executed a single euro for this infrastructure, which accounts for the total abandonment of the PSOE and the Canarian Government to Tenerife and the South region of the Island.”
Dávila recalled that in the Budgets for this 2022, the Government reduced the item to solve the problem of access to the port of Los Cristianos from 200,000 to 50,000 euros, but “they are not even capable of investing that amount.”
Clarified that CC demanded the inclusion of multi-annual items to deal with this problem “immediately, but what the Government does is consign items that it does not execute later ».
The deputy of the Canarian Coalition emphasized the need to carry out various actions to resolve the collapse of Los Cristianos. In this line, she maintains that the solution must be “real and executable in the next two years, which allows the issue to be resolved for the next five years.” In this regard, he points out that these actions would involve “decisively intervening in the urban rehabilitation of Los Cristianos, facilitating the decongestion of the road corridor between the Port and the highway (TF-1), promoting the harmonious development of the urban, commercial and tourist space of the city of Los Cristianos.
Other projects for the future of this area that would contribute to tackling the current problems would be “the new Los Cristianos transport interchange, the transformation of Chayofita Avenue into a boulevard, depressing the road as it passes through the El Mojón junction, and the development of a comprehensive action in the corridor between the Port and the TF-1, including a new link on the motorway, as well as the rehabilitation project of Los Tarajales beach and its surroundings». Most of these actions arose during the debate on the future of the Port of Fonsalía, in Guía de Isora.
