The Island Councilor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga (Cs), explains that it is “an island road with a high density of traffic, with a pedestrian path on one of its banks, and large green areas.” He details that “these days a comprehensive action is being carried out on the margins of the road with the clearing and cleaning of the flower beds, as well as the pruning of trees and shrubs to avoid effects on traffic, in order to improve aesthetics. With this same purpose, a narrow median that separates the road from the service and parking area has been paved. The performance will last three months.
The Island Director of Highways, Thomas Felix Garcia, adds that “the aim is to improve the showiness and diversity of the margins, adding new plantations, mainly in the section between the link between El Botánico and Puerto de la Cruz, with a design similar to the surroundings. Shrubs and climbers will be planted to cover the slope, bringing color to the area, while an irrigation system will be installed.
