SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 14. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The head of the Tenerife Cabildo Citizen Service, Maite Covisa Rubia, has been awarded the award of excellence for ‘Outstanding Woman in the Public Sector’ by the Novagob Foundation, a recognition with which the aim is to give visibility to the role of women in the process of transformation and innovation of the Administration in Spain and Latin America.

Professional public director and career civil servant of the Higher Body of Civil Administrators of the State and inspector of Services, for more than a year Maite Covisa has been in charge of the City Council’s Attention to Citizenship, which has been valued as excellent by users and service users.

She is also responsible for the Public Innovation Laboratory of Tenerife, a member of Women in the Public Sector and vice-president of the Canarian Association for Professional Public Management.

With a Master’s Degree in Public Administration Communication, Covisa has led multiple high-impact teams and projects throughout his professional life, which has been mainly focused on three major areas: Employment, Human Resources and Modernization and Innovation .

His candidacy has received 26.2% of the total votes registered in his category, the Cabildo details in a note.

Apart from this category, and within the Novagob Excellence Awards 2022, Canarias was the winner in two other modalities, such as the award for the most transformative project with the help of technology, within the section on relations with citizens, which went to the Cabildo de La Palma for its Analysis of the volcano with the use of open data and the New Public Talent award granted to the official of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands Cristina Molina Suárez.

In total, the public sector of the islands won three of the six awards granted this year by the NovaGob Foundation, which aims to promote networking and the open community as tools to face the challenges that affect this sector.

In addition, in the last two editions, the Cabildo de Tenerife has been among the five most voted projects, which shows that it is at the forefront of public innovation.

Since their first edition in 2015, these awards contribute to making visible the innovative projects and initiatives that, in different management areas, are developed in the Public Administrations, consolidating themselves during these years as a fundamental space to know and recognize the pioneering experiences of transformation of the public sector.

The winners are chosen through an open call for the participation of any public institution in the different proposed categories, followed by a voting or evaluation process by an independent jury.
