Working to reduce the digital gap was one of the commitments made by the City Council and the associations of mothers and fathers of students from the three educational centers in the municipality, the CEIP Atalaya and Acentejo, and the IES La Matanza. The meeting, coordinated by the mayor, Ignacio Rodríguez –and in which the presidents of the AMPAs and the Councilor for Education, Alexis Armas, participated–, made it possible to take stock of the course and test the needs that the families detected in the centers.
One of them is to have technical tools and a training program that allows channeling from the AMPAs, with the collaboration of teachers, practical workshops focused on fathers and mothers. In addition to an approach to technological reality, the forecast is to guide on the safe use of social networks, the usefulness of applications, blogs, tutorials and virtual classrooms that expand educational resources, fraud, purchase scams and identity theft or the digital management of personal and professional affairs through the digital certificate and other accreditations.
