He Council of Tenerife has opened the application period for the program scholarships America. Until the June 1university and Vocational Training (FP) graduates will be eligible for these grants to carry out non-work training practices.
The CEO of Acción Exterior, Liskel Álvarez, highlighted that “this is the first time that this type of scholarship has been called to gain professional experience in the American continent. In this first edition, there are four places available for job training in Mexico, with a stay of five months and internships in public entities, private companies or third sector entities”.
The program is managed by the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede) and its objective is to promote the internationalization of the Tenerife economy through the acquisition of knowledge and experience abroad by graduates from the island through through non-work training practices.
The scholarships cover the costs of plane tickets, rental accommodation, travel assistance and civil liability insurance, visa and compulsory vaccinations, if necessary, among others. In addition, a subsidy of 700 euros gross per month is granted during the entire period of the training practices.
The requirements to apply for the scholarship include having habitual and uninterrupted residence in Tenerife for at least the last year, level C1 of English and having a degree in one of the following branches of knowledge: Social and Legal Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Sciences , Health Sciences, Engineering and Architecture.
Vocational training graduates in intermediate or higher level Training Cycles can also apply for the scholarships. In the case of titles obtained abroad, they must prove their homologation. Likewise, if an equivalent title is presented, its equivalence must be demonstrated.
