The Tacoronte City Hall will invest 1.3 million euros in the project to rehabilitate the Piedra de Torres wrestling arena, in the neighborhood of light, and reconvert it into a multifunctional center capable of hosting different sporting, social and cultural events. Without ceasing to be a temple for Canarian wrestling, the goal of the Local government (NC-PSOE-SSP) is to transform it into a more versatile space, equipped with a land area with a removable sand cover systemstands, gym, cafeteria, universal accessibility and a patio and covered access ramps.
The architect responsible for the project, Rafael Jaenhas proposed an innovation with a two-layer PVC fabric cover, which will create an intermediate air chamber, “with which leaks will be avoided and the building will gain other thermal and acoustic advantages».
