SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 16 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, has rejected this Monday the “marketing” and the “messes” around the project of the Motor Circuit of the south of the island and has urged CC and PP to support the financing proposal in the next plenary session to be able to continue the works –Si Podemos has always been against it–.
In statements to journalists, he commented that “the opposition groups should not be offered anything” given that they have historically supported the circuit and the project is the same as in recent years, so “it makes no sense that by doing harm and wear down the government” have voted against.
“It is not serious, we must put the interests of Tenerife ahead of tactical interests and politicking,” he indicated.
For this reason, it has advanced that in the plenary session at the end of the month they are going to present a proposal “clear, diaphanous and separate from others”, endowed with 5.7 million to continue with the works, once those of the accesses and the which correspond to the homologations of the motoring and motorcycling federations.
According to the president, this money is going to be distributed in several areas such as the construction of the track, the movement of land or to solve the runoff of water in case of intense rains that could damage the works.
“I trust that the CC and PP will support, we are not going to offer anything, just continue working on the project and give a new impetus”, he indicated, stressing that there is no reason for “a blockade” in the processing given that these two parties they must be “consistent” with what they have done in the past.
“If they have supported it and the project is the one that has been coming for years, there is no reason not to support it,” he said.
Martín has demanded to put aside these “debates” that only try to ensure that “those who are governing do not take out the circuit”, apart from “making the public feel bad”, especially members of the teams and fans.
“Let’s turn the page, support the project and let’s get out of trouble”, he pointed out.
