The Association for the Defense and Protection of Animals of the Canary Islands (Adepac) has informed this Wednesday of the finding and rescue of 11 puppies in Ravelo, Tenerife, which were in very poor condition since they could not feed on their mother. The dogs presented severe dehydration and, despite managing to transfer them to a veterinary clinic, one of the puppies died due to his health difficulties. “He did not have the same spirits as his brothers”, “unfortunately he did not survive”, they have pointed out from the association.
The health of the puppies “is not favourable” and they are severely dehydrated because “the mother had a fairly pronounced wound in one of her mammary glands”, not being able to feed them for this reason, according to members of Adepac.
The dogs were rescued by a volunteer and a worker from the dog shelter who entered a wooded area of the northern municipality of Sauzal and thus avoiding the certain death of the rest of the puppies.
The other 10 puppies they are currently in the shelter to receive all the pertinent care and from Adepac they anticipate that in a few weeks they will publish on all their social networks both the puppies and the mother, Berta, “who also deserves a home, so that a” responsible adoption process begins. ”.
Likewise, it should be remembered that the Canary Islands Association for the Defense and Protection of Animals (Adepac) is located in Ravelo, in the municipality of El Sauzal and is a canine shelter with an average of 400 dogs looking for a home.
