He Tenerife Council will be responsible for fully financing the service transport on demand in the municipalities of Güímar, Fasnia and Aricowhich will be implemented in 2024as announced by the insular Corporation.
The implementation of the new system will be progressive and will not have fixed routes, which will allow a more flexible service to be provided in the areas and times defined for this new service, especially during peak hours from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. always connecting with bus stops.
The Cabildo foresees the implementation of the on-demand transportation system, progressively, in other northern regions of the island.
“This is a measure that will improve people’s mobility, since on-demand transportation will always be linked to the closest bus stops, which is why public transportation is encouraged,” explained the Minister of Mobility, Eulalia García. , after a meeting with the mayor of Güímar, Gustavo Pérez; the mayor of Arico, Olivia Delgado; accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Andrés Celestino; and the Councilor for Social Services, Seniors and Equality of Fasnia, Raquel Díaz.
