SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 2 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Roads and Mobility Area of the Cabildo de Tenerife will advance during the next week in the rehabilitation process of the TF-1 and will complete the works on a 5.2-kilometre stretch between the Granadilla Industrial Estate and San Isidro.
In this phase, the last layer of asphalt, known as the wearing course, will be laid. The Vice President of the Cabildo and Island Councilor for Highways, Enrique Arriaga, stressed that this last phase of the work confirms the improvement in safety conditions and driving comfort.
To guarantee the safety of the area and maintain night traffic, the Highway Area will enable different detours between this Sunday and next Thursday. During those days, the rehabilitation will affect the road in the south direction, specifically in the section between kilometers 51.8 and 57.
As usual, the improvement work will take place at night, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., to reduce inconvenience to users and not affect the flow of traffic during this period of time. The works will be carried out in sections of approximately one kilometer per day, which allows better organization and fluidity for road traffic.
The rehabilitation will begin at the junction 52 Granadilla Industrial Park, Access B and 55 San Isidro/El Médano. Thus, during the nights from Sunday to Tuesday, vehicles traveling south and wishing to access the Granadilla Industrial Estate or the towns of San Isidro, Granadilla or El Médano must continue to junction 59 South Airport, make a U-turn and return towards Santa Cruz until the destination link.
Vehicles that want to go towards Adeje from the Granadilla Industrial Estate must leave towards Santa Cruz until Junction 49 Chimiche, make a U-turn to join towards Adeje, while those who want to do so from CoCarmen must go parallel to the motorway towards Adeje and join the ‘Los Cardones’ exit towards Adeje.
On Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7, the works will only affect exit 55. To access San Isidro, Granadilla or El Médano, including the CoCarmen area, vehicles must continue to junction 59 South Airport, make a U-turn and return towards Santa Cruz until the junction 57 San Isidro, Granadilla or El Médano.
On both nights, vehicles wishing to go towards Adeje from San Isidro, El Médano or the Cardones area must leave towards Santa Cruz until the junction 52 Polígono Industrial de Granadilla, and make a U-turn to join towards Adeje.
These works are part of the TF-1 resurfacing plan that has been carried out since last April and which includes an execution period of approximately fourteen months. In total, the works, carried out by Sacyr, will comprise nearly 40 kilometers of the road between Adeje and Arico.
