The plenary session of the City Council Goodview of the North approved a few days ago its first Municipal Emergency Plan (Pemu), a document that will serve as a practical guide in any emergency situation in the municipality. Mayor, Antonio Gonzalez Fortes (SSP)considers that this plan involves “the consolidation of teams and procedures to deal with the management of any type of emergency or alert, which is a step forward in the management of these situations.”
The Pemu of Goodview of the Northwhich also serves as a coordination platform with the rest of the administrations in emergency situations when those administrations manage them, was written thanks to the financial support of the Council of Tenerife. González appreciates this collaboration and emphasizes that the plan “also contains a detailed risk analysis for all the population centers of our municipality.”
The drafting of the plan has had a cost of 15,515 euros, financed through a grant awarded in November 2019 by the Island Council for Management of the Natural Environment and Security. This line of subsidies was established by the Council of Tenerife with the aim of providing the smaller municipalities of Pemu, “considered a basic document to deal with the declaration of a municipal emergency.”
The process of drafting the emergency plan, through a specialized company, began in March 2020, so it was interrupted by the declaration of the state of alarm. In its development, data has been collected from the different municipal areas and a survey was carried out among the population.
After its approval in plenary session, it is submitted to public exhibition and approval by the the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Canarian Government. Once it is definitively approved, its implementation must begin through operational tasks, training, infrastructure and training.
