SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 22. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has guaranteed this Tuesday that the ‘Pacto de las Flores’ will culminate the Legislature because “instability does not improve the life of the Canary Islands” and now a “time of war” in which, moreover, “there is no opposition or government”.
In the turn to reply to the nationalist government during the ‘Debate on the State of Nationality’, he said that he is not going to “play” as has been done in other communities to obtain political gain and has censured CC for not being “in the rise to the occasion” and use “demagoguery and clichés” as a plot line, stressing that it is “unfortunate” that they come to doubt the data presented by the autonomous community.
“It does not go with who they want to govern and it is not typical of those who have governed,” he added.
Torres has said that despite the fact that 600 million were not executed last year “not a single euro is lost” and although there are “problems” due to the increase in the shopping basket, he has defended that the Canary Islands “are more prepared” for a crisis than in 2008, although he has not hidden that there is “uncertainty” about the international situation.
Torres has stressed that his government does not make “decisions in the abstract” since inflation “reaches the entire planet” and “the world order is being reordered” against which there is no room for “frivolity” since Russia, for example, is studying using chemical weapons, according to the United States.
Along these lines, he stressed that one must have a “cold mind” and “share difficult decisions.”
Regarding the situation in the Sahara, he admitted that it is a “complicated and sensitive” situation in which CC defends the same as the central government.
In addition, he has denied his supposed “submission” to the central government, giving as an example that there will be a solution to the road agreement before ‘Canary Islands Day’.
30 MILLION FOR THE NEW ROAD ON THE COSTA DE LA PALMA
As for La Palma, it has been announced that this Tuesday the work of the new coastal highway that will link Tazacorte with Puerto Naos will be awarded for 30 million euros plus another nine million in expropriations. “Let’s not do politics with La Palma”, he commented, making the opposition ugly when they say that the aid does not arrive.
The president has defended the agreement next Thursday to repeal the restrictions linked to the pandemic, which are taken “always” following the technical criteria, and has once again closed the door to lowering the IGIC because “it is useless” since they would stop entering more than 300 million plus what councils and city councils stop receiving.
In fact, he has predicted that the autonomous community would “break” for what he prefers to give aid and subsidies to the affected economic sectors.
