The City Council of La Orotava, through the Land Management, Planning and Infrastructure area, has commissioned the drafting of the project for the rehabilitation of the building that housed the cafeteria bar of the recreational area of La Caldera, in the Aguamansa area. The municipal objective is that this 1974 building, which has been deteriorating after the last administrative concession contract ended a few years ago, becomes a sustainable space capable of being supplied with clean energy.
The mayor of Villero, Francisco Linares (CC), recalls that from the local institution “it is considered appropriate to recover this significant space and return the use of the cafeteria, since in addition to offering this service in the area, it would contribute to generating new jobs” . Linares recognizes that “a comprehensive remodeling of the space must be carried out with a construction that is more in keeping with the natural environment.” In addition to the recovery of use, they want to enable “a bioclimatic building with a markedly sustainable character”.
Among other characteristics, it is proposed that the property have elements such as photovoltaic panels that can favor the self-consumption of electrical energy and with a natural purification system and self-management of the wastewater generated in the cafeteria bar.
The delegated councilor for Planning and Land Management, Narciso Pérez (CC), explains that «in the coming months it is expected to have the first ideas for this project and thus be able to estimate the cost that this total reform could entail. From there, the most viable formulas will be assessed to carry out the works and the start-up of the cafeteria, through administrative concession, which is the objective of the city council together with the creation of a sustainable space adapted to the environment. where is it located”. This information has already been transferred to the political groups that make up the municipal corporation and it is expected to have his contributions.
