Santiago del Teide has been the only municipality in the entire Canary Islands to receive three grants from the Canary Islands Government’s Department of Tourism, Industry and Commerce that aim to promote the creation, development and marketing of sustainable tourism products and services.
In this sense, the municipality has received a total of €53,800.00 for three well-differentiated projects. In two of them he has received the maximum possible subsidy of €20,000.00 each and which have been for the project “Geoinnova Tourist Route” and for the project named “Astrotourism in Santiago del Teide” while for the third project “Augmented Reality Application with Geopositioning” has obtained a grant of €13,800.00.
From the town hall it is pointed out that these projects will value resources linked to the territory, the natural heritage and the culture of the municipality and will provide quality tourist experiences linked to our culture and identity since they will include the use of new technologies such as virtual or augmented reality.
