Canary Islands School Hotels (Hecansa) will offer two gastronomic meetings at the school hotels of Santa Brígida and Santa Cruz by the chefs of the SeBE restaurant in Lanzarote, Santi Benítez and Begoña Ratón. The appointments with the master classes of the chefs of the Costa Teguise restaurant will take place tomorrow, February 16, in Gran Canaria, and on Wednesday of next week, the 23rd, in Tenerife.
The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands reported yesterday on this initiative, which is part of the collaboration agreement between Escuela de Canarias Hotels and HiperDino. In the two appointments, the training part will take place in the morning. The students will hold a meeting with the chefs, who will offer a masterclass on different aspects of culinary creation, signature cuisine, the importance of the product, and what their experience has been since they finished their training and until they decided to open their own restaurant . The second part of the day will consist of bringing this experience closer to the general public and, for this, the chefs will have the collaboration of the students.
SeBe’s cuisine is characterized by its daring use of local products, which are treated with care, respect and a lot of imagination, which is why in a short time it has become a gastronomic reference in Lanzarote and a place where I show that undertaking in difficult times is also possible.
The students will be able to learn and participate in a philosophy that puts the product first in the impeccable execution of dishes with a very marked personality. In addition, dinners for the public in the two school hotels will be served by students. Those who come to taste the dinner, which will begin at 8:30 p.m. with a welcome aperitif, will enjoy a journey through different flavors of the sea and the land, which will be paired with Canarian wines. The menus will consist of five dishes and will cost 50 euros.
