Jota Vega (Jenaro Alvarez)exhibits from Tuesday to March 8, the Walking collection, in The House The Winery, in Arona. After a long period of artistic inactivity, due to the pandemic, for his teaching work and for his sports vocation (today he trains Amadeus El Rosario, in basketball), Jenaro took advantage of the pandemic to intensify his pictorial work, and after the exhibition ‘Reunion ‘, in June of last year in La Laguna, now returns with the pictorial activity in Arona.
“The path, sometimes, you choose, but there are times when it chooses you. I don’t know if it was family, maternal and paternal influences (as far as artistic creation is concerned) or that the need to create was already beating in me from before (always), “he commented at the inauguration last Tuesday, with the presence of the mayor of the municipality, José Julián Mena.
The hours to visit the exhibition will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. From 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

Self-taught training. Jota Vega began to exhibit collectively and individually in 1979 at the Casino de Los Realejos and at the Institute of Hispanic Studies of the Canary Islands, Puerto de la Cruz, as well as at the Liceo Taoro Cultural Society of La Orotava.
In 1982 and 1983 he participated with drawings and poems in the I and II Exhibition of Words and Form organized by the Hon. Town Hall of Puerto de la Cruz.
In 1979 he obtained the Special Prize in the Artistic Drawing Contest organized by the Agustín de Bethencourt National High School Institute.
After a long period, he resumes his pictorial activity at the Arte Café Época space in San Cristóbal de La Laguna in June 2021 with the solo show Reunion 1979…20/21.
With an important reception by the visiting public, it presents 54 works of different themes and techniques and in which harmony, balance of forms and great color richness stand out.
