Arico concludes the resurfacing of Lomo la Fuente and develops the rest of the works

Improving infrastructure and services for all ariqueros and ariqueras is the objective of the City Council of Arico, that already executes the Investment Plan + ariquero than ever. An essential document for the recovery and the future of the municipality that arises from the consensus with the groups and that has 12 million euros. The government responds in it to historical demands and to the necessary adjustment of the resources of the local society.

Calle Lomo la Fuente.

The Consistory invested 42,666 euros in the asphalting of Calle Lomo la Fuente, in La Cisnera. The work consisted of the milling and rehabilitation of the entire road, the optimal recovery of the pavement for vehicle traffic and the construction of a retaining wall on one of the margins, necessary to secure the road and improve access for residents.

Cemetery lights.

The new LED lighting is already installed in the Villa de Arico cemetery. There are twelve indoor and outdoor light points that improve the lighting and safety of the entire facility. They are all solar lights that guarantee energy efficiency and savings and avoid the laying of cables. The investment in this project amounted to 16,049 euros.

The River Cultural Center.

With an expenditure of 41,521 euros, the City Council proceeds to improve the roof and reopen the main assembly hall, which will recover cultural activity in El Río and reopen the most important area of this infrastructure to the public.

Las Conchas Marinas Street.

The renovation of a masonry wall, the demolition of the pavement, the adaptation of the road and the elimination of disused pipes solve the problem that affects Las Conchas Marinas street, in La Caleta, with an investment of 12,436 euros.

Computer equipment.

In the youth centers and cultural centers, 15 computers, headphones, speakers, two tablets for the youth centers, three laptops, a multifunction printer, a projector and two webcams, among other elements, have been renewed. The municipal investment is 12,000 euros.

The mayor of Arico, Sebastián Martín, maintains that “we are developing the necessary infrastructures for Arico, fulfilling the objectives and giving the municipality a turn, which already required it. This Plan is developed thanks to administrative and organizational reorganization work, the approval of the Budget and the normalization of administrative contracting procedures, with a great effort by the departments to start the Investment Plan this year, whose execution will last for the entire term.”

The local government maintains that these are highly demanded and much needed projects

Juan José Armas, Councilor for Works and Services, highlights the close work of his area with Contracting «to develop the Investment Plan in the coming months in order to promote the municipality and resolve the demands that neighbors and associations send us. These are the first of a set of works that will be carried out in the coming months to guarantee better infrastructures.”

“We are talking about a first batch of actions that exceed 124,000 euros of investment”, highlights Víctor García, Councilor for Finance and Contracting, for whom “the resources have been put in place to face these works. That is the big difference compared to previous years. Finally, the Consistory has been able to count on the necessary money to assume these actions. We closed 2021 and started 2022 simultaneously executing more works than were carried out in previous years. The municipal government recalls that these are the first works and defends that the Investment Plan is there to fulfill it.
