La Laguna extends for the third year the term of the voluntary payment of taxes due to the COVID-19 crisis

The Department of Finance and Economic Affairs of the City Council of La Laguna has reported this Tuesday that it will extend for the third consecutive year the voluntary period for payment of taxes, periodic collection and collective notification, to mitigate the impact of the health crisis.

Taxpayers, therefore, will have two additional months during this 2022 to pay taxes and fees, such as the Real Estate Tax (IBI), filming and garbage collection, the City Council said in a statement.

This modification of the fiscal calendar has been applied since 2020, as a result of the start of the pandemic, to provide greater facilities to citizens when making payments.

With the modification of the fiscal calendar for this 2022, the voluntary term for the payment of the IVTM and the Tax for Reservations on Public Roads for Entrances to Garages, Car Parks and Loading and Unloading of Goods will be from February 15 to July 15.

On the other hand, the period for the IBI and the rate for the collection of urban solid waste and residential garbage will be from June 1 to September 15.

The Tax on Economic Activities and the Fee for the Garbage and Urban Solid Waste Collection Service for Locals, as well as the fees for the installation of advertisements and ATMs in the public domain, will be maintained from September 1 to December 21.
