SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Mobility area, has awarded the contract for the drafting of the construction project for a direct lane to César Manrique avenue from the TF-5 access road to Guajara in an ascending direction, which avoids the roundabout of the university campus.
The Minister of Mobility, Enrique Arriaga, indicates in a note that “this direct lane will improve mobility in one of the most problematic points of access to Guajara and Las Chumberas due to the amount of traffic it supports and the influx of vehicles that They go to the malls and to the university campus.
Along these lines, he points out that “the Guajara roundabout is totally collapsed by the traffic that converges on it from the TF-5 highway, in an ascending direction, with a daily intensity of 20,000 vehicles and peaks of 1,500 per hour, and more congested is still the section of the avenue with a flow of 37,000 vehicles a day”.
The island’s director of Mobility, José Alberto León, explains that “the successful bidder has two months to write the project and a budget of 10,700 euros for it” and points out that the next step will be the planning and execution of the work.
