SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Comunorte and Carnival groups have agreed not to hold the Murgas del Norte de Tenerife contest in 2022 “due to prudence and responsibility in the face of the epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19 and to understand the impossibility of the tests of the groups that today are not may develop due to sanitary restrictions and recommendations “.

The municipality of Los Realejos, the first headquarters of the Murgas del Norte Contest, was in charge of hosting in this 2022 and after the postponement of 2021, the XXIX edition, as well as the children’s contest, and now they are postponed until 2023.

The deputy mayor of Los Realejos, Adolfo González, showed “the regret” that the suspension of the contest supposes to all those who feel the Carnival “but above all there is the safety of the people and, of course, not only the obvious and necessary limitations that the big events are having, but the impossibility of meeting the murgueros themselves to rehearse in their premises that they were not going to propitiate the correct development of a contest “.

According to the Councilor for Fiestas de Los Realejos and president of the Comunorte, José David Cabrera, “we are working on the implementation of a Stable Cultural Space by the end of February in the Plaza de San Agustín where we will develop, if the health situation is favorable, the Carnival of Los Realejos, and that is where we will put our efforts to offer an alternative that does not let the murguero spirit decay so that we can begin to look to the next 2023 with enthusiasm and trusting that we can once again celebrate this very event in style. important for lovers of costumes and Carnival “.
