Canary Islands reports this week 144 new outbreaks with 689 cases. These new shoots are distributed by islands as follows: 50 in Gran Canaria, 47 in Tenerife, 18 in Fuerteventura, 18 in Lanzarote, seven in La Palma, two in La Gomera and two in El Hierro.
By area in which they have occurred, 55 are social, 45 family, 20 work, 20 educational, two health, one social health and one of mixed origin.
The most numerous outbreaks are three: one socio-sanitary, with labor ramification, with 26 affected, a social one with family ramification, with 13 cases, and another of family origin with eleven associated cases, all in Gran Canaria. In general, most outbreaks have between 3 and 7 cases.
Of the 55 social outbreaks, in addition to the one already mentioned with 13 cases in Gran Canaria, another 10 outbreaks related to nightlife stand out, all in Tenerife, with 60 affected; of which three register ten, nine and nine affected and one of them with branching in another island. In addition, there are another seven associated with dinners with friends.
Family outbreaks, all reported among families from different homes, range between three and seven associated cases, except four, two of them in Tenerife with eight and nine associated cases, one in Lanzarote and the other in Gran Canaria with eight and nine cases , respectively.
Labor outbreaks also have between three and six associated cases, except one in El Hierro, with social and family ramifications, with 10 associated cases, one in Fuerteventura with nine cases and another in Lanzarote with eight affected, both with family ramifications.
The 20 educational outbreaks, which range between 3 and 6 cases, except one in Gran Canaria, with seven positives, all have family ramifications and of the total eight have been registered in Tenerife, eight in Gran Canaria, three in Fuerteventura and one in El Hierro
Of the two health outbreaks, one is reported at the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital and the other at the Maternal and Child Insular University Hospital Complex, both with 3 associated cases, all patients.
The social health outbreak is reported in the San José de Las Longueras Center, in Gran Canaria, which affects 20 users and six workers.
Old outbreaks: one with 273 cases linked to nightlife
26 old outbreaks are also being monitored, among which, as one of the most numerous, stands out, one associated with a nightlife venue in Tenerife notified last week, which already affects 273 people with cases on other islands; a social one also linked to a leisure establishment, with family branches, in Tenerife, with 59 cases; and another of mixed origin in Gran Canaria with 49 cases.
