The Protection Catalog of Santa Cruz, made up of 1,665 elements to be preserved, can be consulted from today, and for 45 days, to present the allegations that are deemed appropriate by both individuals and affected public administrations.
This was published yesterday by the Official Gazette of the Province (BOC), a period after which, and once the allegations have been answered, it must undergo an environmental evaluation, after which it can be initially approved. The list of buildings (1,324) and other assets, such as sculptures, monuments, fountains or trees and unique flora, has been agreed with the Cabildo de Tenerife.
Allegations to the Protection Catalog of Santa Cruz
The Catalog may be modified by the allegations that are presented, which in most cases are expected to affect the cataloging of real estate, such as those located in Miraflores and that in 2017 it opened a gap between the Cabildo and City hall on account of the heritage values of three of the buildings on the block that were intended to be demolished. These three properties are included in the Catalog.
Likewise, it includes buildings with architectural values as well as urban spaces and elements, archaeological, ethnographic or paleontological heritage. Also, the areas of urban environmental protection or the network of traditional roads.
