SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) has rescued a 25-year-old hiker injured on the Los Gigantes Cliff on Monday.
The events occurred at 12:39 pm when the Center for Emergency and Security Coordination (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert requesting health care for a hiker who had a leg injury and did not he could continue his way on the path of the Los Gigantes Cliff, in Santiago del Teide.
Members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium provided the first assistance to the affected person and, given the difficulty of carrying out the rescue by land in safety conditions, they asked the coordinating center for the intervention of an air resource.
Thus, rescuers from the GES helicopter got off the aircraft, accessed the victim, who had been taken by the firefighters to a safe place, and hoisted her onto the device to evacuate her to the La Guancha heli surface.
Once on land, SUC personnel assisted the hiker and transferred her to the Continuous Attention Point in La Guancha.
