The counselor congratulated the seven winners and assured that olive growing “is one of the crops with the most drive and quality in our agriculture”.
The awards ceremony will take place on December 11, within the framework of the III Extra Virgin Olive Oil Fair of Tenerife, which will be held in the Plaza del Cristo in La Laguna from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Attendees will be able to taste, learn about and purchase oils from the island and there will even be a culinary demonstration by pastry chef Jesús Camacho, from the Donaire restaurant.
The tasting committee of the ‘VII Extra Virgin Olive Oil Contest’, chaired by Parrilla, has evaluated the 25 samples submitted to the contest according to the methodology of the International Olive Council (IOC).
Of the 25 samples submitted, 18 did so in the quality phase and seven were awarded for the best presentation award.
