The musical chords set the streets of the old town yesterday Candelaria before the traditional lighting of the Christmas lights and the inauguration of the nativity scene located in the Cultural Center of La Villa.
The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, was in charge of giving for Christmas inaugurated with the opening of the Municipal Nativity Scene and invited citizens to participate in the more than 100 activities scheduled for these dates, encouraging attendees to consume in the shops of the municipality.
Daylos Melo, parish priest of Santa Ana, was in charge of saying a prayer and blessing the municipal nativity scene that will remain open until February 2.
As novelties this year, the Bethlehem that represents each of the towns that make up the municipality, as well as prominent figures such as Father Jesús Mendoza or Abilio Alonso, has incorporated more figures in movement to give it greater dynamism. In addition, a volcano in the shape of a piggy bank has been incorporated at the end of the route, in which donations will be collected that will be delivered to Caritas La Palma for those affected by the eruption.
The music came from the hand of the Nueva Banda de Igueste, Antón Guanche, Santa Ana- San Blas, Igonce, Venxamar, Alma Trío, Shay, Stephy and Dixieland Guachipandixie, who were joined by extras on wheels who toured La Arena street (Obispo Pérez Cáceres), Plaza de Teror and Juan Castellano.
The activities will continue this Saturday December 4 with Tenerife Clarinet Fest. 4th International Clarinet Festival of Candelaria, which will take place from December 4th to 6th. In this framework also this Saturday a Concert will be offered at the Rosendo Alonso Tapia Pavilion (Punta Larga).
