SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Hoteles Escuela de Canarias (Hecansa), a center attached to the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, celebrates until this Tuesday the ‘Gastronomic Days of Proximity Products’, in charge of two of the greatest exponents of the promotion of the use of the local product of the islands, the chefs of the Tasca El Silbo Gomero and of the restaurant El Equilibrista 33, Braulio Simancas and Carmelo Florido, respectively.
This activity completes a series of initiatives that Hecansa is carrying out with the aim of promoting the circular economy, sustainable development, knowledge of the local product and the development of a training that turns its students into prescribers and authentic connoisseurs of the subject premium found on the islands.
The sessions have been held in the school hotels of Santa Cruz and Santa Brígida, and have included a master class by both chefs which will also address the preparation of individual dinners that will take place tomorrow, Tuesday at the two establishments.
In addition, to emphasize the transfer of knowledge, Braulio Simancas, who develops his activity in Tenerife, has moved to the Hotel Escuela Santa Brígida, where he will hold his meeting with the second-year students of kitchen management.
For his part, Carmelo Florido, who operates in Gran Canaria, will give his training in the kitchens of the Hotel Escuela Santa Cruz.
This day is an exchange of flavors and culinary knowledge between islands, which allows to expand the training of students and deepen the knowledge of the reality of the entire archipelago.
Hecansa’s training proposal, which continues to grow in its desire to promote the hospitality and tourism sectors, includes programs focused on Food and Beverage Management (face-to-face and online), Kitchen Management, Hotel Management and Gastronomy Services.
In turn, Hoteles Escuela de Canarias offers specialization courses and other learning experiences, the contents and methods of which evolve based on three basic pillars: sustainability, internationalization, language development and digitization, all under the training modality dual professional, which allows the learning of reality and, therefore, the adaptation of knowledge to the needs of the market.
To offer everyone the opportunity to access these courses, both formal training and specialization, Hecansa has created its own scholarship service for all students, so that people who want to train can do so.
