The Tenerife Cabildo announced this Friday that it will not appeal the ruling issued by the Administrative Litigation Court Number 2, regarding the execution of the replacement and containment work of the collapsed wall on the TF-333 road, as it passes through the Montañeta in the municipality of Los Realejos.
The president, Pedro Martín, met this afternoon with members of the Association of Neighbors of La Montañeta, the property affected by the collapse and with representatives of the Pureza de María School, as well as the AMPA, to explain the reasons why has made such a decision and what it entails.
Also participating in this meeting were the first vice president and counselor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, and the island director for Roads, Tomás Félix García.
In statements to journalists, Martín pointed out that the Cabildo’s initial objective was to “set back” the road to make a sidewalk and gain security compared to the position of the City Council, which chose to rebuild the wall.
Finally, he pointed out that as the City Council is the competent one, according to the sentence, they will not raise “any more conflict” and leave the decision in the hands of the City Council, although it maintains the defense of the technical reports of the Cabildo. “It is the best we can do,” he said.
Arriaga has commented that the Cabildo has been working on a project since April with the hands of the owners, a work that would take two months and would allow the road to be opened safely, and now he hopes that the council will undertake an action “as soon as possible” and with security guarantees.
