SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Government of the Canary Islands and secretary general of the PSOE, Ángel Victor Torres, regretted this Thursday “the moment” chosen by the mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez (PP), to break the government pact with the dismissal of the socialist councilors .
“We are not for political instabilities,” he said at a press conference, also underlining that the PSOE Conejero is “mired in pain” these days after the death of the mayor of San Bartolomé, Alexis Tejera, and that political forces should focus on the “economic recovery”, to control the health pandemic and “lend a hand to the maximum” to get La Palma back to normal.
Torres has commented that now it is time to “be united and seek solutions to problems,” while blaming the situation on Pérez herself and ensuring that governance in the Cabildo is not going to be affected.
