SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Department of Beaches of the Telde City Council has reported that during the morning of this Sunday there has been a temporary closure and a ban on bathing on the beaches of La Restinga, Los Palos and San Borondón.
The closure was due to the presence of fuel on the coast of this northern part of the municipality’s coast, originating from a fuel spill, which took place this Saturday on the coast of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Thus, area personnel, working together and in coordination with Civil Protection volunteers, have marked the coves informing of this temporary closure until the cleaning of the waste that arrives during this Sunday is carried out and the water tests show the Relevant quality to discard any pollutant synonym that may affect the bathroom in them.
“We have proceeded to the temporary closure of these three beaches of Telde in a preventive way for health reasons and we are already working to leave them in optimal conditions with the removal of the fuel remains that are reaching the coast,” explained the councilor responsible for the area, Jonay López.
