SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de La Palma will be present at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London that will take place between November 1 and 3 in person -and on November 8 and 9 virtually- with the aim of launching a Confidence and tranquility message to all tour operators, airlines, travel agents and the tourism sector in general.
The insular Minister of Tourism, Raúl Camacho, assured that the effort of the Insular Corporation, together with the Government of the Canary Islands and the businessmen of the sector, “is being the maximum to recover all the air seats and demonstrate that La Palma is a safe destination , being this one of the main lines of work in London “.
He recalled that, despite the eruption that occurred on the island on September 19, which affects 8% of the territory, La Palma is a safe destination, where daily life is maintained in 92% of the territory.
“In most of La Palma life is absolutely normal. We have to emphasize this given the importance of tourism for the economy and job creation on our island. Now, more than ever, it is essential to have support of the sector and of the visitors so that they can help us in the recovery “, explained the counselor.
As Raúl Camacho pointed out, “the cancellation of air seats by the companies and the fall in demand for the beginning of the winter season are some of the data that indicate that all the work we have been doing since the beginning of the volcanoes are necessary, but we must continue to insist on joint work hand in hand with the sector to achieve this return to normal within the emergency situation in which we find ourselves in the Valley. “
For this reason, the Tourism Service of the Cabildo de La Palma, together with the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Spain and the public company Promotur Gobierno de Canarias, has set itself the main objective of this meeting to invite the entire tourism sector and markets issuers to visit the island, “since we consider that this is the best way to generate economic activity and ensure that tourism is also one of the main engines of the recovery of La Palma,” defended Raúl Camacho.
During the three days of this fair, the Cabildo Tourism Service seeks to continue working to promote the arrival of more tourists to the island in a responsible way and make new contacts, since this meeting marks the beginning of the tourist season in terms of recruitment Markets and Annuity Planning 2022.
This year’s forecast for the meeting is 50,000 people and around 3,000 journalists, so it is essential to be present at this meeting and continue to position the island as a safe destination.
